Well done Port St Mary! – recycling increased by over 25%

A massive WELL DONE to everyone who did their bit for our revised Kerbside recycling last week – Recycling increased by more than 25%, to over 4 tonnes per round. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

What CAN’T we put in the kerbside boxes?

NO batteries
NO flammables inc. lighter fuel cans and portable stove canisters
NO paint cans

NO paper towels or tissues
NO laminated paper or wallpaper
NO nappies
NO expanded polystyrene large packaging from televisions etc

NO food
(Pizza cartons and polystyrene food trays must be rinsed of food if they are going to be recycled)

So what CAN we put in kerbside boxes?

(Almost) EVERYTHING ELSE! There’s bound to be a few materials that won’t recycle, but let’s give it our best shot.

If you have too much for the boxes please put any extras alongside them in an open box or clear bag (just so the guys can see what they’re handling)
Thank you!
