The Southern Recycling Centre (previously the Southern Civic Amenity Site) located on Castletown Road, Port St Mary, is a service provided for all Island access for the disposal of bulky household waste and is run by the Southern Civic Amenity Site Board. It is administered by Port Erin Commissioners.
There maybe a charge for some of the services e.g. fridges, televisions, laptops, disposal of DIY waste etc so please contact the Site on 836202 or check out their website scas.im and list of fees on https://scas.sumup.link/

Gate shuts 10 minutes before closure time
Closed: Public Holidays – New Years Day and 2nd January, Good Friday and Easter Monday, Senior Race Day, Tynwald Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day
We don’t close for lunch!

Fridges and Freezers
Fridges and freezers can be recycled at a cost other Materials Accepted for Recycling include
TV’s, computer monitors, laptops, fluorescent light tubes (there will also be a charge payable for these items)
Lead acid batteries (i.e. car batteries), dry cell batteries (rechargeable or single use batteries), scrap metal, garden waste, glass, aluminium, paper and clothing and accessories, clean bedding/towels, dirty engine oil, old tools, sewing machines and good as new items.
The Site can now receive cooking oil in sealed plastic containers up to a maximum size of 5 Litres
Prohibited Items: Gas cylinders, flares, ammunition, food waste, tyres, some chemicals, this list is not exhaustive. Information Leaflets are available from the Site if required.
Beach Clean Waste
Anybody planning an organised beach clean is requested to contact the Site beforehand for advice on how best to arrange the waste and for details on what can and cannot be accepted. Where possible, a date should be agreed upon for when the waste will be taken to the Site so that staff can be warned to expect it and ensure there is enough room in the skip. Beach clean waste will need to be weighed for Site record purposes.
